CHIKKAMAGALUR: A 23-year-old youth ended his life after failing to clear the army recruitment test at Yadavalu village near Kigga in Sringeri taluk. The deceased is Karthik.
In a death note, he mentioned that he had failed to clear the recruitment test and did not have the courage to reveal it to his parents. Karthik committed suicided by hanging in his house.
Karthik had been trying for two years to get into the army, but dejection over his failure drove him to suicide. A case has been registered at the Sringeri police station.
