RAICHUR: A youth was assaulted by some Muslim youths over an Instagram post at RH Camp 2 in Sindhanur in the district on Sunday night.
The police have arrested four youths, Akbar, Shamid, Tajuddin and Sameer in connection and a case has been registered against more than 30 people.
It is alleged that someone posted objectionable posts through a fake Instagram account in a girl’s name. The four Muslim youths assaulted the Hindu youth on the pretext of questioning him. The Hindu youth is said to be part of a social media group. He was attacked for not giving out the name of the person handling the social media group though he knew him.
A case has been registered at the Sindhanur Rural police station. District Superintendent of Police Nikhil B visited the place.
