RAICHUR: A 20-year-old youth has been arrested for pelting stones and damaging several vehicles at Golapalli village in Lingasugur taluk in the wee hours on November 19. The arrested Thimmanna committed the act as his brother and sister-in-law did not get a bus to Bengaluru.

Five trucks, at least three buses and a car were damaged.

Thimmanna had planned to drop off his brother and sister-in-law, but as they did not get a bus, he was upset. He, along with his friends Anjaneya (20) and Ambarish (25) consumed alcohol later that night and pelted stones at three buses, a car and at least five trucks around 2 am on November 19, damaging their windscreens. Some people had also sustained minor injuries.

The Hatti police, who had registered a case, initially suspected a theft attempt, but realised that it was an act of frustration after Thimmanna’s arrest. The police are now on the lookout for Anjaneya and Ambarish who are absconding.
