Yogi Adityanath to fire up Hindutva brand of politics in Mandya

BENGALURU: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, popular as a Hindutva icon, will campaign in Mandya after the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Mandya is considered as a stronghold of the JD(S) and the party had won all seven seats in the district in the 2018 Assembly elections.

This time, however, it is expected that the equations may change with the BJP making an aggressive push in the Vokkaliga heartland and the Old Mysore region.

Yogi Adityanath will be participate in a huge public convention in Mandya in support of the BJP candidate. The party is banking heavily on the campaign by Yogi Adityanath, who hails from the Nath tradition and and is himself the head of the Goraknath Mutt.

Yogi Adityanath brought many changes after becoming Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and his government initiated a bulldozer drive against history-sheeters and the mafia. The BJP plans to win at least 2-3 seats in Mandya district with the help of Yogi.

The BJP is working hard in Mandya, Mysuru and Ramanagara using Hindutva as a weapon and expects to consolidate pro-Hindu votes in Old Mysore region. Mandya is also a stronghold of the Vokkaliga community and the BJP is determined to plant its flag in the district.
