World’s third largest solar park near Pavagada has become a ‘water park’ now

TUMAKURU: The world’s largest solar park at Thirumani in Pavagada taluk, called ‘Shakti Sthala’, has now transformed into a ‘water park’ after to heavy rainfall over the last three days.

The park is completely waterlogged due to overflowing water from the Kyadaganakere. The solar energy plant at Block no. 4 belongs to Avada company, which is located in the Kyadaganakere area.

The solar park is located 180 km away from Bengaluru. It is spread over 13,000 acres of land that has been taken from 2,300 farmers on a 25-year lease. It generates energy at 2,000 megawatts of power.
