Karnataka registers 63.9 pc voting till 5.30 pm, Bengaluru votes poorly again

BENGALURU: Karnataka, where 14 seats went to polls for the Lok Sabha election on Friday, recorded 63.90 per cent voter turnout at 5.30 pm. The figures are expected to rise after the final count comes in as voting was held till 7 pm.

Yet again, the voter turnout in Bengaluru city was low with only Bangalore North recording just about 50.04 per cent while the two other Lok Sabha constituencies put up an even poorer show — Bangalore Central at 48.61 per cent and Bangalore South at 49.37 per cent. Bangalore Rural recorded better voting at 61.78 per cent.

The voting percentage in the other seats was Udupi-Chikmagalur 72.13 per cent, Hassan 72.13 per cent, Dakshina Kannada 71.83 per cent, Chitradurga 67 per cent, Tumkur 72.10 per cent, Mandya 74.87 per cent, Mysore 65.85 per cent, Chamarajanagar 69.60 per cent, Chikkaballapur 70.97 per cent and Kolar 71.26 per cent.
