Woman’s decomposed body found at Yeshwantpur railway station

BENGALURU: The body of an unidentified married woman, aged about  23 years,  was found in a decomposed state near the Yeshwanthpur railway station on Wednesday.

The body was found in a drum near the goods platforms at the railway station, with clothes and a plastic cover on top of it. The police searched the area after noticing foul smell. They are now trying to establish her identity and locate her hometown.

According to preliminary investigation by the police, some people may have kept the body on the platform 5-6 days ago, given the state of decomposition. The police are yet to establish how the body in the drum was brought to the railway station platform as the CCTV cameras there are not working properly.

The woman was wearing toe rings and hence, it is suspected that she may be married. police also suspect that she could be from North India. A case has been registered at Yeshwantpur railway station.
