VIJAYAPURA: Four people have been arrested in connection with the rape and sexual assault of a married woman in Managuli police limits. The arrested include the culprits Akash Hadagali and Abhishek Sajjan and Somappa Sajjan and Jayashree Hadagali who aided the duo.
According to the police, Akash and Abhishek threatened the woman of her life and then raped her. They also filmed the act on a mobile phone, blackmailed her and continued to sexually assault her repeatedly. In the meantime, the video of the rape was circulated through different platforms.
When the victim’s husband and other family members saw the video and questioned her, the woman revealed that she was threatened of life and raped and told not to reveal about it to anyone. She later left home along with their six-year-old son.
The victim’s husband later lodged a complaint with the Managuli police who arrested the four. Further investigation is under way.
