Woman missing after landslide found dead in river

KARWAR: A woman who had been missing for the last eight days was found dead near Gangekolla in the Gangavali river on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Sanni Hanumanta Gowda (67).

The woman was missing after a landslide brought down her house at Uluvare village. She had been washed away into the river after the house collapsed. The last rites were conducted by her son Manjunath on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rescuers including the NDRF, SDRF and the Indian Army are continuing their search for those missing after the landslide at Shirur in Ankola taluk. Ten people had gone missing and so far, the bodies of eight have been found.
