BELAGAVI: A woman who was riding a scooter was flung in the air and thrown about 50 metres away after a speeding car rammed her vehicle from behind near an intersection here recently. The badly injured scooterist Divya Sujay Patil (23) was immediately rushed to a hospital by locals.
In CCTV footage that is available, the car, driven by Bharath Chougule, can be seen approaching the intersection at high speed, hitting the two-wheeler in front of it and crashing into two other cars before coming to a halt. The car even went over a speed breaker just ahead of the intersection, flinging Divya into the air.
Divya Patil a resident of Brahma Nagar here, was on her way towards Majagagon from Peeranwadi when the accident occurred. The Belagavi South traffic police have arrested Chougule and registered a case.
