Woman files complaint against husband for forcing to her to spend time with his friends

BENGALURU: A married woman has accused her husband of forcing her to spend private moments with his friends. She has also alleged that he assaulted her and tortured her physically and mentally for not obliging to his demands. She has since lodged a complaint against her husband with the Amruthahalli police.

Sunanda Rai and Srikanth Rai (names changed) are married for 17 years and have two children. But her husband’s strange demand to have a relationship with three of his friends shocked her and the couple would have arguments over this.

A few days ago, Sunanda gave her mobile phone to her children to play as they were creating trouble at home. She then picked up her husband’s phone to make a call and found his messages to his friends about her. When she questioned her husband about, he flew into a rage and assaulted her for using his phone. He later started harassing her to agree to his demands. In the meantime, Sunanda had also come to know that her husbands three friends were into wife-swapping.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Laxmi Prasad “The couple have two children, including a 10-year-old. The woman has complained that her husband shared their intimate photos with his friends. We have filed a case under Sec 498A of IPC and for criminal intimidation. We will seek permission from the court to arrest him. The husband is a businessman in Mangaluru and he had arranged for her to live in Bengaluru.
