Woman disrobed as two groups clash over road dispute in Belur village

HASSAN: Two groups violently clashed at Hanchihalli village in Belur taluk over a dispute about a road. A group of people, including Gangabovi, Shivakumar and others, attacked a woman and even disrobed her.

The incident occurred on March 22, when a group of people objected to the construction of a road leading to the houses of Govindappa, Kumar and others. The woman, a relative of Govindappa, was allegedly attacked and disrobed her by the group.

The police have registered a case against Gangabovi, Shivakumar, Soma, Kiran, Anand, Puneet, Pratap, Prasanna, Nagabovi, and Manjabovi. However, some of the accused, including Pratap, Soma, Manjabovi, and Kiran, are still at large.

The victim’s family has alleged that they have been ostracised by the village for eight years and have been denied access to water. They have also alleged that they have been threatened and attacked repeatedly.

The incident has sparked outrage, with the victim’s family demanding protection and action against the accused. The police are investigating the incident, and the videos of the attack have gone viral on social media.
