BENGALURU: A woman died, allegedly due to medical negligence, at the Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital on Friday. The family members of the deceased staged a protest with the body in an ambulance, demanding that the doctor who treated her arrive at the spot.

Nazni was admitted to the hospital three days ago with complaints of stomach pain. The family members alleged that she was not attended to for two days and suddenly on Friday morning, the doctors said she had to be operated upon immediately.

The family claimed that an operation was successfully done in the morning and Nazni was shifted to the ICU where she was kept under observation. Later, the doctors claimed that she had some neurological issue and advised the family to shift her elsewhere. The woman died while being shifted to another hospital, they said.

The family members brought her back to Ambedkar hospital and staged a protest alleging that Nazni was not given proper treatment. The police were deployed for security.
