The two-wheeler rider lay writhing in pain for more than 15 minutes with no ambulance turning up.

BELAGAVI: A two-wheeler rider, who was involved in an accident with a bus, lay bleeding and writhing in pain on the road leading to Sambra airport today morning. With no ambulance turning up even 15 minutes after calls were made, the traffic police shifted the injured man in a pickup vehicle to a hospital.

The injured man was shifted to hospital in a pickup truck.

The accident occurred ahead of Chief Minster Siddaramaiah’s visit to the city and the CM’s convoy was to take the same road. The injured two-wheeler rider was indentified as Mahesh Dudagundi.

Locals who had gathered at the accident spot vented anger that no ambulance turned up in time, while appreciating the quick action of the traffic police. The incident occurred in Marihal police limits and a case has been registered.
