CHIKKAMAGALUR: In a fresh twist to alleged love jihad case in Hariharapura, the victim has filed a complaint against four including her lover Mohammed Rauf, and Irfan, Saif, and another at Hariharapura police station in Koppa taluk on Sunday alleging that Rauf has been torturing  her physically and mentally for the last three years.

In the complaint, she has also said that Rauf is now threatening to post her private video on social media. He also made her drink intoxicant-laced juice and tied a thali to her while she was unconscious, she claimed.

The victim is a native of Shanuvalli village in Karkala taluk, according to the complaint, and is in her final year BSc at Nitte College. Mohammed Rauf is resident of Koppa in Chikkamagaluru district and is currently living abroad from where he uploaded her photos on social media, the complaint said.

The victim said they met on Instagram and become friends. He met her once near her college and invited her for lunch. He then gave her a spiked drink, which she was unaware of until later. Later, Rauf dropped her off near her hostel.

He called her again two days later to meet him outside the hostel. But when the victim refused to go with him, stating that the hostel warden was around, Rauf sent her edited photos of her on WhatsApp and threatened to post them on social media. She gave in to his demand as she was afraid of her photos going viral, she stated.

The victim also claimed that every time they met, he used to force her to drink water laced with some intoxicant and if she refused, Rauf’s friends would threaten her with a knife and forced her to drink it.

On October 31, the girl’s brother Manoj filed a complaint at CEN police station in Chikkamagaluru, but inspector Nasir Hussain did not register the case. Rauf is now threatening her mother and brother over social media, she stated and sought immediate action against Rauf.
