RAICHUR: Residents of a slum in Maski town in Raichur district are struggling to obtain title RTC for their houses. Despite being identified as beneficiaries of a government scheme, 263 families haven’t received their title deed certificates.

The residents allege that Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan cancelled the title deed distribution programme, initially scheduled for July 29, citing the land’s Waqf status. But the letters were not distributed.

Over 300 poor families reside on the 7-acre land in Survey no 7/1, previously owned by Sajid Saab Khazi, now registered under the Slum Board’s name.

The title deed distribution programme was cancelled as the property belongs to Waqf. The residents, living there for 30 years, have demanded immediate issuance of ownership documents.
