Villagers rescue duo stuck in car being washed away by flood water in Kadur taluk

The car was swept away in the strong current.

CHIKKAMAGALUR: Two people who were trying to cross a flooded road at Sakharayapatna in Kadur taluk, had a providential escape when the car was swept away and locals came to their rescue.

The car was almost submerged, but luckily locals came to the aid of the occupants.

Ignoring the danger, the two men in the car attempted to cross a stretch of road which was already under five feet of water. To their horror, the strong current suddenly started sweeping the car off the road.

The front windshield was broken with a hammer to rescue the occupants.

Luckily for the duo, locals came to their aid. They brought an excavator, tied a rope between it and the car, broke open the front windshield and rescued the occupants of the car which was sinking. Quick thinking and action by the locals resulted in two lives being saved.
