Villagers hold unique protest for mobile tower, say no OTP, no vote

CHIKKAMAGALURU: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and villagers of Menasinahadya held unique protest demanding installation of a mobile tower in the Naxal-affected area by posting a stickers on walls, vehicles, houses.

The posters read, ‘No vote without OTP’ and demanded installing of a mobile tower. The villagers threatened the elected representatives that they will boycott the election if the authorities concerned do not fulfil their demand at the earliest.

A sticker campaign was launched to demand installation of a mobile tower in the Naxal-affected area.

People from Bali and Menasinahadya, which are known to be Naxal-infested, launched the campaign on social media. In this digital era, villagers are finding it difficult without network connection. About 70 families are living with proper network connectivity in Balige in Kalasa taluk, they pointed out.
