Upset over poor prices and low yield, farmer destroys chilli crop in Dharwad

DHARWAD: A farmer resorted to destroying his entire chilli crop due to poor prices and low yield at Gudenakatti village in Kundgol taluk on Thursday.

Jayapala Yogappa had cultivated chilli crop on his three acres of land and had taken a loan, expecting a good yield.

Jaipala Yogappa destroyed the entire chilli crop, upset over the poor market price.

However, he did not get a good yield due to untimely rain. Moreover, the prices of chilli in the market is low, and upset over this, he crushed the entire crop on three acres by driving his tractor on it.
