CHIKKABALLAPUR: Upset over their mother’s death four months ago, a brother-sister duo committed suicide by lying on a railway track and coming under a train in Sidlaghatta on Thursday night. The deceased were identified as Navya (25) and Prabhu (22).
The brother-sister duo were residents of Prema Nagar in Sidlaghatta and their mother Lalithamma had died four months ago due to some illness linked to the appendix. Their father Nataraj is a labourer. It is said that they were upset over their mother’s death and came under a train going towards Bangarpet on Thursday night.
The father Nataraj was seen in tears on Friday morning at the site where his two children had died. On receiving information, the Railway Police from Baiyappanahalli in Bengaluru visited the spot and have registered a case.
