HASSAN: The body of an unidentified man was found floating in the Hemavathi river at Shettihalli village in the taluk on Monday.
Some villagers had cast a net to catch fish and the body of the man got caught in the net, which they left in the water. The deceased seems to be 35-40 years old. A rope was tied to the waist, indicating that he may have been murdered and the body weighed down with a stone.
The Gorur police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
