BENGALURU: A man tried to kill his 2.5-year-old son by feeding poison to the child as he was not able to afford the boy’s treatment. The child is now recovering at the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Bengaluru.
Munikrishna, the accused father, allegedly fed poison to his son when they had gone to visit his mother at Bagalur in Tamil Nadu. The incident occurred on the night of December 22 and was revealed when Munikrishna’s wife and mother noticed him washing the child’s mouth in the bathroom. The child was admitted to hospital the next day.
Munikrishna, a resident of Hootandahalli in Kolar district, reportedly told the child’s mother and grandmother that he couldn’t afford the child’s treatment for a congenital disease and hence fed him poison. The mother has filed a complaint with the Siddapura police station, and Munikrishna is now facing charges.
