BENGALURU: A youth, who worked as a delivery agent, is suspected to have been swept away in the Vrushabhavathi canal after an unidentified vehicle hit his two-wheeler near the Jnanabharati Metro station late on Friday night. The youth’s two wheeler and footwear were found at the site where the accident is suspected to have occurred.

The missing youth is Hemanth (27), a resident of Byatarayanapura on Mysore Road. He was coming towards the city from Kengeri when the accident occurred. The police and the fire brigade personnel launched a search in the rajakaluve on Saturday morning. When the missing youth could not be traced, the police called in the BBMP engineers to assist in the search.

The two-wheeler, a slipper were found next to the retaining wall; A crash mark on the wall indicated that he may have been hit by a vehicle.

Locals pointed to a crash mark on the retaining wall, leading to suspicion that the two-wheeler rider may have been thrown into the rajakaluve due to the impact of the collision. The search continued through the day, but did not yield any result.
