Two tigers caught on camera with injuries in Bandipur

One of the tigers was spotted with a gash on the front leg in Bandipur.

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Two tigers were spotted with injuries along the safari route in the Bandipur tiger reserve in Gundlupet taluk. The tigers were captured on videos by visitors to the tiger reserve.

While one of the tigers was filmed resting with a deep gash on the front leg, another was seen walking away from a water body with a limp in the hind leg. It is suspected that the tigers may have sustained injuries in territorial fights.

Another tiger was spotted walking with a limp.

The videos have since been widely shared on social media and the tourists, including some wildlife enthusiasts, have appealed to the authorities to ensure the safety of the injured big cats.

Meanwhile, Forest Department officials have said that its veterinarians are keeping a watch on the health of the tigers and medical intervention will be arranged at the appropriate time.
