Two students fined for tearing up stickers, blocking CCTV camera on Namma Metro

BENGALURU: Two students were fined Rs 500 each and slapped with cases under Section 59 of the Metro Act for blinding a CCTV camera within in a Namma Metro train and pulling off stickers.

Five students of Class 10 were travelling in a Metro train from Konanakunte to Jayanagar on November 8 when two of them tore up stickers and stuck it on a CCTV camera. The issue came to light during maintenance after the Metro service for the day had ceased.

The students were traced based on footage from other CCTV cameras and were confronted by the BMRCL security staff the next day at the Jayanagar Metro station.

After the students admitted to their act, the principal of their school and also their parents were informed by the BMRCL officials.
