CHIKKABALLAPUR, DAVANAGERE: Two people, a man and a woman, were found dead under suspicious circumstances in separate cases in Chintamani and Davanagere.
The body of an unidentified woman was found hanging from a tree Madappalli lake bund in Chintamani town on Saturday. It was not immediately known if it was a case of suicide or if the woman was killed and hung from the tree to make it look like a suicide.
The Chintamani Rural police visited spot and have taken up further investigation after registering a case.
In another incident, a man’s body was found with blood stains in front of Spandana Juice Centre on Vidyarthi Bhavan road in Davanagere city. The deceased was identified as Chandrappa (51) and it is suspected that he may have been murdered.
Chandrappa was a resident of Nittuvalli 60 feet road and was originally from Pavanapura village in Harapanahalli taluk of Vijayanagara district. Blood stains were found on the head and most parts of body. He is said to have had links with a gang that was cheating people by giving fake gold.
Additional SP Parameshwar Hegde, DySP Sharanabasaveshwara and other senior officers visited the spot. A case has been registered at the Extension police station and investigation is on to establish the cause of death.
