Two Hindu leaders booked for asking women to take up arms

UDUPI: The Udupi town police have booked a suo motu case against two Hindu leaders for making provocative speeches.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Sharan Pumpwell and Bajrang Dal district coordinator Dinesh Mendon addressed a protest meeting organised by the VHP in the parking area near Krishna Math on Thursday, condemning the filming incident in the Udupi paramedical college washroom.

During their speeches Sharan Pumpwell and Dinesh Mendon asked women to take up arms. Sharan called on women to take up swords and machetes for justice and for the protection of their children and called upon them to drop the brooms in their hand. Later, Dinesh Mendon also made a provocative speech.

Udupi Town police station SI Puneeth has registered a suo motu case against the two leaders.
