Two die in a week at Chikkamagalur govt hospital, negligence alleged

CHIKKAMAGALUR: Two patients died within a week at Chikkamagalur district hospital allegedly due to negligence and lack of timely treatment by doctors and staff.

Manjunath (60), from Lakshmipur village, was admitted on Sunday evening with breathing difficulties but was left unattended on a stretcher in the emergency ward for over an hour. Despite being shifted to ICU, he died early on Monday morning.

Last Thursday, Lakshman from Aldur village also died due to alleged negligence. Locals are outraged, demanding action against the hospital staff and doctors, citing their irresponsible behavior and lack of response to patients’ needs.

Locals have accused the hospital staff of playing with the lives of poor patients and is demanding strict action against those responsible.
