Two buses seized over unpaid compensation to accident victim’s family in Aurad

BIDAR: Two buses belonging to the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) were seized for failing to comply with a court order and delaying compensation to families of those killed in an accident.

The buses were seized on the orders issued by the Aurad Senior Civil Judge and JMFC Judge and have been parked in the court premises.

On February 28, 2024, a bus collided with a motorcycle near Kamalanagar, killing two people. In the accident, Suvarna, wife of the deceased Veerabhadra, had approached the court seeking compensation, and the court had ordered a total compensation of Rs 36.63 lakh, But due to non-compliance with the court order, an order was issued to seize two transport buses, the lawyer for the victim’s family, Ravikanth Naubade, said.
