Two arrested for stealing Rs 80,000 from accident victim near Mysuru

MYSURU: Two men have been arrested by Mysuru police for stealing Rs 80,000 from an accident victim’s phone through online transfer. The incident occurred on December 19 near Kadakola in the taluk.

The victim, Ganesh, was taken to a hospital after an accident. The accused Ramesh and Manu pretended to help Ganesh, took his phone and transferred Rs 80,000 via UPI to their accounts. They then abandoned Ganesh and fled.

Ganesh’s brother Anka Nayak lated admitted Ganesh to a hospital and filed a complaint at CEN police station. The police tracked the suspects, arrested them and recovered Rs 80,000 and two phones from them.
