Tusker crosses rail barrier; chases cattle in field in Sakleshpur

HASSAN: In  two separate incidents, two wild elephants turned at Halasulige and Nidanur villages in Sakleshpur taluk on Friday.

Labourers ran away to save themselves from a lone tusker.

In video footage, a lone elephant can be seen crossing over the rail barrier and going into a coffee plantation. In another video, a lone tusker can be seen chasing cattle in a field and labourers who were working there escaping to save their lives after they saw the tusker.

A lone tusker crossed a rail barrier in Sakleshpur and created havoc.

For many years, herds of wild elephants have destroyed crop. The villagers have given several complaints regarding the issue, but all that the officials have done is visit the spot and file reports.
