Trio held for trying to sell ganja at MM Hills; Hubballi youth arrested by TN cops for drug links

CHAMARAJANAGAR, HUBBALLI: Three people have been arrested for trying to sell ganja to devotees at the Male Mahadeshwara (MM) Hills and 190 gm of the banned substance was seized from them.

The arrested are Abhishek (23), Adarsh (22) and Uday Kumar (22). They were allegedly trying to sell the ganja to devotees near the shed where devotees get their heads tonsured.

Based on specific information, the MM Hills police raided the place and arrested the trio. A case has been registered in this connection.

Meanwhile, the Coimbatore police have arrested a youth from Hubballi for allegedly having links with international drug peddlers.

The arrested Surajgouda Kanagoudara, who hails from Adaragunchi village, was working in a medical store at Janata Bazaar in Hubballi and is accused of having established contacts with international drug peddlers. He also used to sell banned drugs.

Surajgouda was apprehended by a joint team of the Hubballi Rural, Satellite Town police and the Peelamedu police who approached him on the pretext of buying banned drugs.
