BENGALURU: The Transport Department on Friday issued a notification fixing the rates for app-based mobility services like Ola, Uber and Rapido. As per the notification, users will now have to pay an additional 5 per cent commission on the total fare.
The Transport Department has taken into account the service fee and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) while deciding the auto fares.
In the first week of October, the department had received several complaints from users about the high minimum fares and the department had issued a notice to stop the app-based autorickshaw service.
Hearing a plea, the High Court too had directed the state government to fix the rates for app-based mobility services like Ola, Uber and Rapido. The department had informed the court that the rate will be decided and fixed by November 25.
The next hearing in the matter will be held in the High Court on November 28.
