BENGALURU: Finally, the state government has issued orders increasing basic pay of all four transport corporation employees with effect from this month.

When Ramalinga Reddy was Transport Minister, he had ordered a pay hike for transport corporation employees. The revised pay will be credited to transport employees’ accounts from July.

The government has increased the basic pay of employees of four transport corporations — KSRTC, BMTC, NWKRTC, and KKRTC — by 12.5 per cent. The pay revision has come into effect retrospectively from April 1, 2025. The first installment of arrears due to employees has already been released.

The hike will benefit around 1.05 lakh transport corporation employees in the state. The additional monthly expenditure due to the salary hike for the government will be to the tune of Rs 72.80 crore.
