BENGALURU: The traffic police have identified several reasons for waterlogging on city’s roads, including clogged drains due to construction debris and silt, insufficient space for water to flow, closure of canals without prior preparation, and water accumulation in low-lying areas.

The 14 major waterlogging spots in Bengaluru

  1. Outer Ring Road: Nagawara to Hebbal
  2. Traffic junction under Hebbal flyover
  3. KIA Airport Road: Hunasamaranahalli
  4. KIA Road: Vidyashilp Junction
  5. Hosur Road: Roopena Agrahara
  6. Outer Ring Road: Marathahalli
  7. Outer Ring Road: Karthik Nagar
  8. Outer Ring Road: Kasturi Nagar Bridge
  9. Ballari Road: Palace Guttahalli

  11. Bannerghatta Road: RUB-1, RUB-2

Despite submitting a report highlighting these issues, the BBMP has failed to take action, and the city’s roads are already experiencing waterlogging and traffic jams due to the pre-monsoon rains. The situation is only expected to worsen with the official onset of the monsoon season
