Traffic police get down to tackling Whitefield traffic mess, make changes

The traffic police have effected some changes to ease traffic flow.

BENGALURU: The city traffic police are now gearing up to tackle the traffic mess in the IT hub of the city including Kadubeesanahalli, Marathalli, Bellandur and Whitefield.

With the highest number of complaints regarding traffic on social media coming from Whitefield, the traffic police have proposed certain measure, which they hope will reduce traffic density.

The traffic police tweeted about the changes.

Since Monday, the traffic police have effected some changes in Whitefield area to ensure smoother traffic flow. Among them are:

  • The Hope Farm-Hoodi road, which was one-way, has been made two-way.
  • Diversion has been changed on Hoodi-Katanallur road
  • Changes brought in on Sarjapur Road to allow crossing of the road.
  • No entry for heavy vehicles coming from Tirumashettyhalli and Channasandra side.
  • IOC tankers coming from Devanagundi diverted to alternative route

The traffic police are conducting trials in Varthur and ITPL too. The focus is on reducing traffic density in Whitefield and Outer Ring Road.
