Three youngsters were rescued by lifeguards at Gokarna beach on Saturday.

KARWAR: Three young tourists who were swimming in the Gokarna beach were rescued by lifeguards after they got caught in strong currents and were being swept away, on Saturday.

Maruthi (20), Chandana (16) and Madhusudhan (11), hailing from Hoovina Hadagali in Ballari district, had come to Gokarna with their family members. When they were out swimming in the sea with the others, they suddenly got caught in strong currents.

Lifeguards Mohan Ambiga, Shivaprasad Ambiga, beach supervisor Ravi Naik and Pravasi Mitra Raghuveer immediately swung into action and rescued the three youngsters.
