CHIKKABALLAPUR: Three boys, who had gone fishing, drowned in the Chikkanahalli lake in Devanahalli on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Karthik (16), Dhanush (15) and Guruprasad (8) of Basavanagar.
The boys went fishing near the lake and accidentally slipped into the water. When they did not return home, the parents filed a missing person’s complaint at the police station. Later, they started searching for children.
The boys’ bicycle and footwear were found near the lake on Sunday morning. Later, when a search operation was conducted, the bodies of the boys were found.
The bodies were fished out of the water and sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered in this regard.
