Three more arrested in Praveen Nettare murder case; DG&IGP holds review meeting

MANGALURU: The police have arrested three more people in connection with the brutal killing of BJP Yuva Morcha worker Praveen Nettare in Dakshina Kannada district.

While two suspects were picked up from Bengaluru, the other was arrested from Kerala. So far, the police have arrested five people. Two others, Shafiq of Bellare and Zakir of Savanur had been arrested earlier.

Meanwhile, DG&IGP Praveen Sood visited Mangaluru on Monday and held meetings with the Mangaluru police commissioner, Dakshina Kannada SP and other senior officers. The top police officer of the state elicited information on the progress of investigation into the spate of three murders in a span of 10 days.

In the Masood murder case, eight people have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. In Praveen’s murer case, two have already been arrested and the police have vital clues in the Fazil murder case, Sood said. Steps will be taken to ensure law and order and so that such incidents do not recur, he added.
