MANGALURU: Three men from Kasargod in Kerala were arrested after they allegedly took three female students of a prestigious college in Mangaluru to a waterfall in Belthangady and sexually harassed them. The arrested are Abdul Khader Altaf (36), Faizal Adil (27) and Usman Safeer (18).
The trio had taken three young women who hail from Mangaluru, Bantwal and Shivamogga and studying at a college in Mangaluru, to the Didupe waterfall in Belthangady. There, the young women were sexually harassed, and the women resisted. Locals who noticed this questioned the youth and later informed the police.
Belthangady police took the three into custody, interrogated them, and arrested them based on the young women’s complaint. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had become acquainted with the young women at a beach in Mangaluru a few days ago and had later also taken them to Kerala.
The police produced the three before a court in Belthangady which remaned them to judicial custody for 14 days.
