KALABURAGI: Three men from Kalaburagi, who were promised jobs in Russia, have been forced into Wagner Group force which is fighting the war alongside the Russian forces against Ukraine. They have now put out a video message seeking help to be rescued from the war zone.

The three men, from Hagaraga Cross in Kalaburagi, who were looking for jobs came across Youtuber Baba of Mumbai. The three, Syed Ilyas Hussaini, Mohammed Sameer Ahmed and Suqain Mohammed paid Rs 3 lakh each to the agent Baba who promised them jobs in Russia.

The families have appealed to the authorities to secure the release of their children.

On December 18 last year, the agent told them that security jobs are available in Russia with handsome salaries and the three took a flight to Russia. After a few days of training, the trio was sent to the Russia-Ukraine border to fight the war. They have now released a video pleading to be rescued from there. One of them can be heard saying that a fourth friend of theirs is untraceable now.

The parents of the three men have pleaded with the authorities to rescue their children from the war zone. They have also petitioned Kalaburagi MP Dr Umesh Jadhav to intervene in the matter. District in-charge minister Priyank Kharge has directed the district deputy commissioner to get in touch with the Indian embassy and secure the release of the three men.

Minister Priyank Kharge said the DC has written to the MEA.

“The three men were cheated and pushed into the war. As per protocol, the DC has written to the Ministry of External Affairs. I have also spoken to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge to bring the issue to the attention of the External Affairs minister. Apparently, this type of cheating has also happened in Telangana and mostly in North India. The Centre should take this issue seriously”, Priyank Kharge said.

It is said that about 12 youths from different states have been conned by agents and are in a similar situation in the war zone.
