Three, including BUDA commissioner and member, caught by Lokayukta while taking bribe Rs 10 lakh for sites

BIDAR: The Lokayukta police have arrested Bidar Urban Development Authority (BUDA) commissioner and a member during a raid for demanding Rs 50 lakh bribe to release BUDA layout sites.

Police caught Siddu Hugar, who was taking the bribe money as per the orders of BUDA commissioner and was caught red-handed by Lokayukta police near Pratap Nagar in Bidar. The Lokayukta police caught him while taking Rs 10 lakh bribe out of Rs 50 lakh demanded. The money was seized from the accused.

BUDA commissioner Shrikant Chimmakode and member Chandrashekhar Reddy were caught by the Lokayukta police near a hotel in the district. Later, they were taken to the Lokayukta police station near Bal Bhavan in the city. Security has been tightened near the police station.

The raid was conducted based on a complaint filed by Satish Naubade. The accused were produced before the Lokayukta court and remanded to judicial custody.
