VIJAYANAGAR: Three people died on the spot when another lorry collided with a parked mini lorry from behind. The incident took place near Salavada Cross in Kotturu taluk of the district.
The deceased have been identified as mini lorry driver Guruvanna (40) of Gajapur, Tippanna (55) of Battanahalli and Basavaraj (25).
Tippanna of Battanahalli in Kottur taluk and his relatives had gone to the Huligi temple. About 10 people were in mini lorry were waiting for their relatives near Sasalawada Cross.
A speeding lorry collided with a parked mini lorry from behind and the three people died on the spot. The others in the mini lorry have suffered minor injuries and are being treated at the hospital.
Vijayanagar SP Sriharibabu inspected the accident site.
