SHIVAMOGGA: Thieves tried to steal an ATM using an excavator which they had stolen from elsewhere. However, they abandoned their plan when the police arrived on the scene unexpectedly.
Some thieves targeted an Axis Bank ATM in Vinoba Nagar Layout on Tuesday night and had brought along a stolen excavator to pull out the teller machine. However, when the night patrol police arrived there, the ATM thieves abandoned the stolen excavator and fled the scene.
The police have seized the excavator and a case was registered at the Vinoba Nagar police station. Further investigation is under way.
