DAVANAGERE: A thief, who had gone to steal from a house in KTJ Nagar here, died after he fell from the portico while escaping.
Around 3 am, Parashurama and two of his accomplices were planning to break into a house to steal. However, when the house owner raised an alarm, the two other thieves jumped from the house and escaped.
Parashurama too jumped to escape, but sustained serious injuries. He died on the way to hospital. Senior police officers visited the spot and a case has been registered at the KTJ Nagar police station.
