BENGALURU, SHIVAMOGGA: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is probing The Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, on Wednesday conducted raids at five locations in Bengaluru apart and Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district.
The NIA officers detained two people from Gurappanapalya in Bengaluru for questioning and may arrest them if there is evidence of their involvement in the terror act. The duo are said to have helped Musavir Hussain Shazib, the main suspect in the case, when he came to Bengaluru from Chennai.
The central agency also conducted raids on the houses of Abdul Mateen, Sardar Naveed and Musavir Hussain in Thirthahalli. Naveed is also suspected of helping out Musavir Hussain. Both Abdul Mateen and Musavir Hussain are absconding. The NIA also conducted a raid at Moottaikaran Street in Chennai, but the suspect is said to have fled.
Teams of NIA officials from Bengaluru arrived in Thirthahalli in five vehicles are conducted raids on at least five locations including at Soppugadde, Indira Nagar and Betamakki.
