DAVANAGERE: A teacher escaped death by lying down on the railway tracks when a good train was passing at the railway station here on Thursday.
Shivakumar, the headmaster of a school in B Durga, was crossing the railway track when a goods train suddenly came on the same line. He quickly lay down between the rails and saved himself.
On seeing Shivakumar lying on the tracks the railway staff stopped the goods train. The Railway Protection Force personnel rescued Shivakumar who was stuck under the train. He had sustained some minor injuries and was treated at a hospital.
