MADIKERI: A 53-year-old teacher, who suffered a brain hemorrhage and was declared brain dead, gave a fresh lease of life to eight people by donating her vital organs on Sunday.
Pandyanda Asha (53), a resident of Sudarshan Layout in the city, was a teacher at her own play school and daycare centre for the last 21 years. She had gone to her daughter’s house in Bengaluru on October 1 for Dasara vacation.
Asha suffered a brain hemorrhage and was immediately admitted to Narayana Health. Doctors declared her brain dead and her family consented to donating her organs.
“My mother has been managing a baby-sitting centre for the past 21 years. In the name of kids, we have donated her vital organs,” said Somanna, the organ donor’s son.
