Tarikere govt hospital doctors help pregnant woman, who suddenly went into labour, deliver without complications

CHIKKAMAGALURU: A government hospital doctor stepped in to help with the delivery of a pregnant woman, who suddenly went into labour at a bus stand in Tarikere taluk. After timely treatment, the mother and the infant are now doing well.

Yashodha, a resident of Gadirangapur village in Ajjampur taluk, was full-month pregnant. She was going for a regular checkup at McGann Hospital in Shivamogga along with an elderly woman when she suddenly developed labour pains and fell sick even as they were waiting for a bus stand to Shivamogga at Tarikere.

At that time, locals suggested that she get admitted at a government hospital nearby, but her labour pains got intense before reaching the hospital.

Taluk government hospital doctor R Devaraj, who was heading to work, took her to the taluk hospital in Tarikere after taking her into confidence. He called the obstetrician for the emergency to ensure safe delivery.

In the initial three month, Yashodha had been going to a private hospital for regular checkups, where she was asked to pay Rs 30,000 for the delivery.

Citizens appreciated the government hospital doctors for quick action and Yashodha also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff of the government hospital.
