BENGALURU: Have you ever had a flat tyre and didn’t know the nearest place where you could get the puncture fixed? Well, here’s a new app that could get two-wheeler riders and motorists out of such sticky situations quickly.

In tech city Bengaluru, a local lad has developed the ‘Live Puncher’ app (never mind the spelling) which will bring puncture repairmen to where you are, sparing you the trouble of pushing your vehicle.

Sameer Dalasanur, a Bengalurean who developed the app, has now launched it in association with Blackpen Communications. The app brings puncture repairmen and motorists on a single platform and is currently available for Android phones on the Google Play Store.

“Sometimes, we don’t get people to fix a puncture when we need it most. This app tells you which puncture repair shop is close to you. Users can then contact them and they will provide their services where you are. The app is free, but the service is charged as per their rates. So far, we have on-boarded more than 70 puncture repair shops and over 3,000 vehicle owners are using the app. This app can be taken across the country, provided shop owners are on-boarded. The app was launched about six months ago and we have got positive responses as it saves time”, Sameer says.

Sameer explaining to the owner of a puncture repair shop how the app works.

After downloading, users have to provide their name and phone number to register and also mention the category of vehicle (two-wheeler or four-wheeler). In case of a puncture, the app will give you details of puncture repair shops close by. Users can get in touch with them and even track the estimated time of arrival.

Ehsan Pasha says he charges Rs 100 extra for on-call service.

“Customers call us and we reach the place where they are stuck and fix the puncture. For customers who come to shop on their own, I charge Rs 80 per puncture. If I attend a call within 6-km radius, I charge Rs 100 extra for the service”, says Ehsan Pasha, who runs a puncture repair shop.
